What do Bulgarian’s prefer?

No matter how good one life, sooner or later question of real estate comes as an issue. It is not a secret that most people prefer living in big cities, where one can easily find a job and live better. However, there are still those, who prefer the quite life in a small country, where the most appealing thing is the nature.  And this is by the way, the reason so many people have chosen to live in Bulgaria and not in United States as many do.

There are of course many advantages, first the quite life, second the nature and last but not least the cheaper apartments and houses. As far as I have already brought up the question of choosing between a house and an apartment, I find it important to mention some facts about the difference between buying a house and buying an apartment. First of all, you should bear in mind that the prices of real estate are really low and continue decreasing, so that is a good advantage when choosing where to settle down. Of course, the price depends on both the type of the house or apartment and the place it is situated. What I mean here is, buying an apartment in the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia, will cost you approximately € 85 000, whereas buying an apartment in Plovdiv for instance costs 46 350 €.

If you are one of those people, however, who prefer having no neighbors and the opportunity to have a garden, then you may prefer buying a house.  Let’s see how much a house costs, again in these two big cities. In Sofia a house with a garden costs approximately € 185 000, whereas in Plovdiv you will pay 160 000 €. You can see the big difference between the prices in these two cities.  If we continue comparing the prices of different places in Bulgaria, you will see that the bigger the city is, the higher the prices are.  There is one more issue to be discussed here, what do Bulgarian’s prefer – a house or an apartment.  Well, knowing the advantages of living in a house, no neighbors plus a beautiful garden, I might say that it is much better to live in a house. However, knowing the living standards in Bulgaria, I am not sure that many people could afford it, so most of them just choose apartments, because it is less expensive. Finally, I would say that choosing where to live is a matter of money not a matter of preferences.

Nowadays, property buyers can be surprised by the lower prices in the real estate market. If you have enough money, you can buy very extravagant and sophisticate sea mansion or amazing mountain villa. This was reflection from the financial crisis which hit seriously this market. Now people have the ability to buy their dream place or home. ...
